This is set up for discussions of West test world - Beta.





I'll try to level as fast as possible in Beta world basically developing only the skills mentioned above (first skill distribution) and from time to time i'll write here how is it going.

I've joined Beta on On 5/23/09. Choose to increase dex and trapping so i could do high exp and money jobs fast.
Joined town with first lv of hotel on a first day, another one with lv 3 hotel on third. Took over construction planning and on 5/27/09 we've build lv 4 hotel.
Right now i'm lv 10, choose to be a builder for +5% exp increase.. The only problem until now was slow development on levels from 7 to 9. It's because i coudnt do some quests who would have given me good exp or money for completing them. At lv 9 bought gray slouch hat (lv 7 item, sold almost everything) and with beaver hunting plus river fishing leveling is not a problem again. It seems that i'm doing ok with money too as just in a first day i've made ~$100. But he amount i need to gather for lv 21 items where i should be able to do good exp and money jobs is huge - i'll need another $5760 + $250 for donkey + some donations to town.
I plan to increase increase dex and hiding until 21 lv.

Reached lv 15 om 5/31/09. So far - so good. The only problem i encounter is that i might not be able to gather needed money before lv 21.As i've bought donkey and donated some to town development i havent bought, and dont have money, yet for items that i need for doing grizzly hunt and stealing horses. Another of the good news is that we've signed and FTA with almost half of the main towns in this world and one of them has black cotton jacket (only one right now in whole world) so i wont have any problems in buying it when i have the money i need.

i want to come there too.
can you give me a skill build and tell me which class i should become?
and give me an item build?

If you will be able to join beta - tell me and i'll invite you to our town. As Beta can have only 500 people and some of the are afraid of reset and just lurking - we need active people there.

I suggest to pick between 2 classes - builder (if you want exp bonus) or adventurer (if you need $$$ bonus). Soldier and dueler are useless in this world as there isnt enough people to duel.

I recommend this skill set up - to put everything into dexterity and trapping until level 7 (should have 28 trapping by then + 12 from gray slouch hat and you can do beaver hunt).
After you can do beaver hunt - you can develop your character anyway you wish.
I've put everything into trapping and dex up to lv 10, now just increasing dex and hiding. Even though i could continued increasing trapping. This is because i do not want to reskill from trapping later or if i decide to - pay lots of money for it. If my calculations are correct i should be able to do best trapping jobs (almost all of them have hiding too) at a level when i will be able to use best items for these jobs.

Item build for grizzly gunt and stealing horses is:
Gray slouch hat - $220
Golden indian necklace - $660
Black cotton jacket - $2500, lv 21
Gray work shoes - $660

In Beta people are getting deleted after 7 days of inactivity. So basically every day someone is deleted. The best time to get in is at 6-8 hr in the morning (server time). All you need to do is to check every day.
I do not play in any other worlds - just in W1 and Beta.

I want W10 to open. Ill see the settings and then Ill be a Dueler. However I am really likeing what I have going now on W1 Builder/Melee.

When I started world I focused all my skills on Construction and Vigor and Strength. Now I have 100 vigor, 130 Construction 39 strength

What type is the guy in the picture I know hes soldier but is he a Dueler or all round guy...

By the way... What is beta for? And what is the differens about beta and a normal world?

Beta is a world for West game testing. All new updates will be implemented there first and only then to real worlds. Right now there is no difference from normal worlds except that there are only 500 people there and inactive players get deleted after 1 week.

Did calculations again and decided to change developing strategy. From level 17 i've put all skills into trapping again so i would have ability to do hunting grizzlys at lv 23 and not lv 29. Although i doubt i'll be able to buy back cotton jacket by this time. Today i've bought gold indian necklace and can do Hunting Wolfs (63% exp) now (lv18).

so we have to put all skills into dex and trapping until lvl 23?

I think skills should be put into dex and trapping until lv 18-19. I've put some skills into hiding so i will reach enough trapping just at level 23.

Yes, until lv 23.

Reached lv 20. Hunting wolfs really helps to level fast. Short of money for items

your doing so well. i am nearly lvl 8 now but i need 100$ to get gray slouch hat.

now i have my slouch hat and i can do beaver hunt at lvl 8. its so cool. i remember i could do beaver hunt at lvl 10 or 12 in world 1

Reached level 25. It was the first level where i had to work for 2 days in order to reach it. There is still a shortage of money for buying black cotton jacket. So i guess i've made a mistake - for fastest leveling all skills should be put into trapping until character can do Grizly hunt (with or without all clothes). I'll soon (in another level of so) be able to do Stealing horses even without black cotton jacket so i'll be gathering money faster.
As i'm trying to be able to do all jobs - i've started to put AP into charisma and SP still into trapping.

Forts have been introduced 2 days ago in Beta. But as smallest fort require town with over 20k points and our town has only 14k points i've started to wander should i stay in this town or should i move to bigger one. Today i've proposed a Vote on whether all town members should donate $100/day. I guess vote will answer what i'll do next.

Today i've bought black cotton jacket and can do Stealing horses + Grizzly hunt. My first objective in beta was reached. From now on i'll be doing the same jobs for a very long time. I'll start doing quests now for 2-4 hr/day and help town to develop by donating much more money.

Many current town members agreed to donate $100/day for town development. Yesterday we added 3 more new players who plan to be pure builders and 3 more are on a waiting list. This means that its only a matter of time when we will have many good builders and our town will develop very fast.

You should put into trapping until you can do grizzly hunt. If you buy right items - you will need less points, if not - more points. Later you'll be able to change them.



Yesterday reached lv 30. It took 7 days to get 5 levels. Usual day consist of 4 hr grizzly hunt, 4 hr wolf hunt and 4 hr stealing horses. If there is some energy left - doing quests a little. Right now putting AP into charisma and SP into shooting.
Town is growing pretty well as new low level builders got some levels + bought some construction items and started building.
West stats fort is growing slowly. Donated some money there but as there is no communication with West stats town - i'm not inclined to put a lot of resources in that fort right now. In addition sleeping in fort is very inconvenient - its possible to put to sleep only for 6 hours and regenerate 78 energy during this time. In theory its better than lv 5 hotel (13 energy/hr vs 12.5 energy/hr), but in practice - not good. As fort is far away from town (~1.5 hr) and its not possible to put money into my personal account - i'm holding on this fort.
